Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Before the adventure down under begins, there is a journey to be had.

From the sun graced West Coast, Marley, myself and a Uhaul (attached to my Camry may I mind you) journeyed to the canyons of West Texas.  After 1,068 miles, one flat tire in no man’s land New Mexico and a lost passport scare, I now call Ransom Canyon, TX home... at least until the beginning of July.

Road Trip Highlights:

  • Cloudcroft, NM - my favorite spot between San Diego and Ransom Canyon.

  • Flat Tire experience in Artesia, NM - just barely missed the circus, and has anyone seen Billy?

  • Marley, the fur ball that makes my life complete, and the best travel companion.

Why have I journeyed to Ransom Canyon you ask?  Well its where my mom and dad by marriage live of course!  Normal humans would take this time to catch up on some much needed “r-n-r” before departing on an unknown adventure, but that is just now how my family operates.  Its go time in the Greer/Hobbs clan.  The one month to race day count down has officially begun to tick today.  On June 24, the 23rd annual Buffalo Springs Lake Ironman 70.3 will take place.  For all my fellow event managers out there, you know the one month crazy that undoubtedly ensues.  Combine that with constant family time, 4 Boston Terriers and 100 degree F weather; some solid stories are sure to be in this blog’s near future.
Before I dive into that hot mess, its time for Tour de South. First stop Atlanta/Knoxville via plane, train and automobile.  It’s moonshine time with Jana, Jess and David - my college family, and some of the best friends a girl could dream of.  Get ready Lake Norris, were coming for ya...
